JOB TITLE: FEMALE SUPPORT WORKER(DRIVER)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Working as a member of the care team in the provision of care and support services for the elderly clients suffering with dementia or general complex ill health in their own homes. Clean driving licence and use of own car is essential for this role.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Helping or supervising client washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Preparing client meals and snacks and feeding or supervising eating and drinking
- Administering medications
- Cleaning home, washing clothes and linens, shopping and other domestic duties as required
- Monitoring client health conditions
- Using Company’s reporting system to record information from each client visit
- Reporting any concerns to Care Co-ordinator
SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Knowledge and understanding of challenges relating to people with dementia
- A commitment to a service which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individuals’ wishes
- Good Level of English (written and verbal)
- Good communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, managers and other care professionals
EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working in the care sector essential
EDUCATION
GCSE English Level 4 or Equivalent
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Clean driving licence and use of own car for business purposes
- Willingness to undertake training including Care certificate and Client specific training
