Job Title: Registered Care Manager

Salary: £35.5k – 36.5K

Reports To: Director

 Responsible For: Care staff, care coordinators, service delivery

Job Description

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the domiciliary care service, ensuring standards ofcare and schedule of visits to clients are maintained, in line with CQC standards
  • Ensure accurate, concise and timely records of care given are documented to the provision of care and support
  • Lead and develop your team leaders, to ensure they manage rotas, communicate to the team to ensure they are fully conversant with their duties and take appropriate action to remedy any unsatisfactory performance
  • Ensure effective management of care packages, from referral through to assessment, quality assurance monitoring, ongoing review and termination of care packages.
  • Understand responsibilities in relation to adhering to health and safety.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of all clients through adherence to relevant legislation,procedures and codes of practice relating to care.
  • To develop and maintain effective relationships with external agencies to ensure

         services are delivered effectively.

  • Take responsibility for identifying and resolving non-compliance
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency assistance by participating in the on-call rota.
 
 

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Registration

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to complete within an agreed timeframe
  • Registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or eligible to register
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Relevant management or leadership qualification
  • Safeguarding Adults Level 3 training

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience working within health and social care
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience of managing care packages and supporting service users with complex needs
  • Experience of staff supervision, appraisal, and performance management
  • Knowledge and experience of CQC inspections and compliance

Desirable

  • Experience as a Registered Manager
  • Experience in domiciliary care / supported living / residential care (as applicable)
  • Experience of budget management and rostering systems

Knowledge & Understanding

Essential

  • Strong understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs)
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
  • Understanding of person-centred care and outcome-focused support
  • Knowledge of health & safety, risk assessments, and care planning
  • Understanding of employment law within a care setting

Desirable

  • Knowledge of local authority commissioning processes
  • Awareness of current best practice and sector developments

Candidate Specification We are looking for an enthusiastic people person who understands the needs of our clients and care team. The applicant needs to have good interpersonal skills and striving to achieve a high standard of care.

Candidate Qualification & Key Skills

  • at least 2-years’ domiciliary care coordinating experience. 
  • Must hold a valid and clean driving licence and have a use of a  car
  • Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal and be able to liaise with health professionals such as social workers, OT’s and Physiotherapists, competently.

Candidate Key Accountabilities 

  • Assisting the Registered Manager with managing care staff 
  • Producing care rotas and managing staff through roster software such as Birdie ·
  • To receive and process new referrals before care commences. 
  • Ensure that where needs assessments are carried out, a support personalised plan is created.
  • Accepting care packages and assigning cares to service users in an appropriate manner. 
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders as part of a multi-agency approach 
  • Arranging care reviews and risk assessments for service users · Participating in the branch on-call rota 
  • Ensuring that our service complies with CQC requirements. 
  • Working flexibly to cover alternate weekdays, evenings, weekends. 
  • Recruitment, Induction, supervision, and Appraisal of staff
  • Delegate tasks to care staff and following up to make sure tasks are completed to a high standard
